Goals

Mission Statement:

I believe that it is my responsibility as a teacher to serve as a positive role model for my students and community of colleagues. Inside the classroom, I strive to create an environment that is founded on respect, trust and an interest in learning. I am dedicated to helping all of my students reach their highest potential and ensure that each student experiences success. I pledge to be an active and positive participant in my classroom, school and community through my work in the classroom, interactions with my peers, and my personal actions.

2008-2009
Goals

  • To include more differentiated instruction in my classroom in order to allow all learning levels to experience success.

  • To inspire students to follow their dreams.

  • To increase student motivation.

  • To make success the only option for students. Failure will not be an option in my classroom.

  • To create a sense of unity among the students and staff and to encourage school pride.

  • To create positive connections between home, student and school that work together to encourage student performance.

  • To implement ZAP and after-school ZAP sessions.

Goals
  • To serve as an active and positive influence at Northside Middle School.

  • To create a classroom environment that is safe, respectful and conducive to learning.

  • To plan lessons that present the information in a variety of fashions in order to reach the different learning styles.

  • To continue my growth as a professional through attending professional development sessions and reading professional literature.

Achievements
  • Helped implement a system of red and green laminated cards to help streamline the fire drill procedures. If all of the teacher's students are accounted for they will show the green card, allowing administration to quickly assess the situation.

  • During the 3rd term, Jennifer Hall and I led conflict resolution sessions in In School Suspension during 4th period. The sessions varied in topic, however the main focus was to provide the students with tools that would help prevent future placement in ISS and remain in-control of their behavior.

  • Decorated the computer lab (room 221) to create a more stimulating environment for the students.

  • Assisted with academic probation in the library after school during the 3rd term on Tuesday and Thursday afternoons.

  • Chaperoned at the Valentine's Day dance.

  • Supervised study tables during 4th quarter one morning per week. Study tables were implemented in order to help those students involved in sports maintain an acceptable grade point average.
