ZAP Zero’s Aren’t Permitted (ZAP) is a philosophy concerning student work. I believe that all of the assignments given are worthwhile and necessary to the student’s academic success. I expect each student to complete and turn in every assignment given to them. The Goals of ZAP: * To improve the academic performance of students. * To increase the student’s sense of responsibility for academic success. * To instill better study habits and improve quality of work. Program Students are not permitted to have missing assignments. Students who do not turn in assignments will be ZAPPED and be required to attend a ZAP session, during which the student will complete the assignment. ZAP is not meant to be a punishment. It is a strategy to help each student succeed and the focus remains on learning. ZAP sessions are typically assigned, however students can assign themselves a ZAP session if they feel they need more time to work on an assignment. Students are encouraged to monitor their own progress and take responsibility for their learning. ZAP sessions are held on Monday, Wednesday and Friday from 3:05-3:55 in my classroom. The students will be dismissed in enough time to catch the 4:00 bus. If you have any questions regarding the ZAP policy, please do not hesitate to contact me at (765) 747-5290 or email me at amerrell@muncie.k12.in.us. |
