Reflection:
Growth is important in all aspects of life, professionally and personally. I believe that once someone stops learning and growing they remain stationary. Henry Ford, founder of Ford Motor Company, once said “Anyone who stops learning is old, whether at twenty or eighty. Anyone who keeps learning stays young. The greatest thing in life is to keep your mind young.” My goal is to continually be moving forward and learning more. There is always something more to learn or improve upon.
A professional growth plan is essential to foster personal and professional growth. Expanding upon my skills and knowledge will provide me with more tools to offer my students. There are so many resources available to teachers to help them grow professionally, that I believe it is important to take advantage of them. Learning is a continual process and should be enjoyable. If it is expected that students learn and grow, the same should be expected of educators.
