Reflective Analysis of Portfolio Artifact
INTASC #_____5______
• Brief Description of Evidence:
This artifact is an example of a classroom management
plan that can be used in any classroom. The students would be allowed to
make suggestions and revisions to the plan. The students will be
involved in the structure of the classroom, its management and
organization. There is a place on the management plan for the parents,
teacher and student to sign. This is to ensure that all parties agree on the
guidelines in the classroom, therefore they understand that there are
consequences for certain actions.
• Analysis of What I Learned:
The most important thing that I learned while creating
this management plan is that the students make a choice to behave in a
certain way. It is necessary for the students to know that they are
responsible for their behavior and they will be held responsible for the
consequences that accompany certain behaviors. In addition, I learned that
it is important for the students to feel that they are involved in the
organization of the classroom. If the students contribute to the
environment, they will be more likely to follow the guidelines and feel more
satisfied with the classroom structure.
• How This Artifact Demonstrates my
Competence on the INTASC Principle:
This artifact demonstrates the ideas of classroom
management because it involves the students in the creation of a management
plan such as this one. It also takes into account the consequences for
violating the set of classroom guidelines. It clearly states what is
expected of the students. The management plan also takes into account the
primary goals of the classroom and paves the way for a classroom to be successful.
