Principle 3: Diverse Learners
|
| Reflection: Every student learns at a different rate and through different methods. Within every classroom there will be a wide range of abilities. Through observation, teachers can start to become familiar with the different types of learners in the classroom. Once a teacher understands the different types of learners that are in the classroom, the lessons can be adapted to use the techniques that will most greatly appeal to the students. In my classroom I will use several different instructional strategies in each lesson. I feel that it is important to try to reach as many students as possible. As a professional, I strive to learn about the different types of learning styles and which techniques are best suited for each learning style. I want my students to do the best they possibly can and in order to promote success in the classroom it is important to use the most beneficial teaching techniques. Not only are students diverse in their approaches to learning, they are diverse in their backgrounds and cultures. Multicultural diversity is an important factor that teachers face in the classroom. It is important to understand and respect other cultures and understand that culture has an influence on how students learn. |
