INTASC Principle 10: School and Community Involvement
|
| Reflection:
Relationships are the key to so many parts of life. Forming relationships is a rewarding process and there are many different types of relationships that people form. Students, teachers, parents and the community should form supportive relationships that encourage and inspire learning. The student-teacher relationship should be one of respect and mutual understanding. I believe that the student and teacher should feel comfortable around each other. It is also my responsibility as a teacher to establish a relationship with the parents and the community. I believe that it is important for teachers to be active within the community and in the school. It is important for teachers to attend school functions as well. Participation in events outside of the classroom allows teachers to make a connection with the students and the community. It is important to make connections outside of the classroom. Relationships beyond the classroom are another way to extend learning and support. |
