• Brief Description of Evidence:

     This artifact is a website that I created for Southside High School. The website was completed as community service for Southside's French teacher. It is a resource about language learning and French culture. It touches on the various aspects of the French language. I worked with the French teacher at Southside High School to create this tool for her classroom and students.     

• Analysis of What I Learned:

     I learned that it is important to have interaction and valuable relationships with the community. It was interesting to create a website for another teacher. I enjoyed researching the information and creating an interactive learning tool that can be used by many students. I also learned that it is important to always display professionalism in all work because the community will look upon your work favorably if done well.

• How This Artifact Demonstrates my Competence on the INTASC Principle:

     This artifact demonstrates several aspects of the INTASC principle. It shows that I am able to create a relationship with the community and other teachers. Also, I am committed to creating useful tools for language learning for students and teachers to use in their classrooms. I believe that it is important to display work in the community so that the community can learn about the subject as well. I was able to identify several resources in this website for further learning. This website is a reflection of my ability as a teacher to create relationships within the community that foster student learning and development.
